Those lessons followed him from the football field into his career and have helped shape his approach to leadership at Legacy Risk Solutions.
Today, Payne is returning to Georgia State as a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, beginning a new chapter of service to the university that helped shape him.
“Georgia State gave me a platform,” Payne said. “Returning as an Alumni Association board member is an opportunity to help strengthen it for the Panthers coming next.”
Forged on the Field, Carried into Legacy
College football taught Payne to embrace difficult assignments, remain prepared and contribute wherever the team needed him. The experience reinforced values that would become central to his professional life: discipline, resilience, teamwork and trust.

Payne’s return to Georgia State represents the continuation of a journey rather than the completion of one.
The discipline developed as a student-athlete helped prepare him for the challenges of business. His career at Legacy Risk Solutions has given him another platform to lead, build relationships and create opportunities. Now, his position on the Alumni Association Board gives him an opportunity to bring those experiences back to the community where the journey began.

Payne is carrying Panther pride from the field to Legacy Risk Solutions and now into the boardroom at Georgia State—not simply to look back on where he has been, but to help shape what comes next.
