Bob Norton

Executive Chairman

Robert (Bob) Norton is an experienced insurance executive with a strong business development and entrepreneurial background. He is the Executive Chairman of Legacy Risk Solutions, President of Norton Agency Insurance, and Founder of realprotect, The Nsure Network, comparerates.com, and NAI Holdings. Bob graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in Management. In the past, he has served as the Chair of Georgia Agency Partners, and is a graduate of Fireman’s Fund National Agents Training School. Bob is married to Amanda and is a father of 5.

Preston Moss

Executive Vice Chairman

Preston Moss has been with Blanchard & Calhoun Insurance Agency, Inc. since 1980 and serves as the agency President. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia, and is fully licensed in all lines of insurance in several states. Preston has earned his Certified Authority on Workers Compensation designation. Preston is married to Traci and is a father of 4.

Jason Griffith

Chief Executive Officer

Jason Griffith has been in the insurance business since 1997. He has been with Norton Agency Insurance for over 10 years, leading him to step into his role with Legacy Risk Solutions. Jason graduated from Clemson University where he was an All-American and All-ACC Golfer as well as Academic All-American. Jason is married to Michele and is a father of 3.

Michael Mellars

President and Chief Operations Officer

Michael Mellars is responsible for day-to-day operations of the agency and ensuring all systems, procedures, and people are aligned to meet agency goals. Michael has a B.S. in Business from Kennesaw State University.  After 10 years with Pritchard & Jerden (now Sterling Seacrest Pritchard) as Commercial Lines Manager, Vice President of Operations, shareholder, and member of the board of directors, Michael is joining the Legacy Risk Solutions team as the Chief Operations Officer. Previously, Michael was also the Branch Manager for Southern States Insurance for over 10 years. Michael acquired his AAI designation in 2011. Michael sits on the executive committee for the IIAG as Past-President and is also the Past President of the Metro Alliance of Independent Insurance Agents. Michael is married with three daughters.

Cheryl Major

Chief Financial Officer

Cheryl Major is responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial reporting and accounting management.. Prior to her current role as Chief Financial Officer for Legacy Risk Solutions, she served as Controller for W. L. Norton Agency, Inc. and its various partnerships and subsidiaries.. Cheryl began her career as an auditor, after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oglethorpe University.

Lee Rogers

Executive Vice President

Lee Rogers serves as the President of realprotect, a division of Legacy Risk Solutions that was begun in 2014 in response to the emerging opportunities recognized in residential real estate investment. He works with real estate investors, lenders, property managers, and marketplace platforms to serve real estate investors by providing innovative insurance solutions. Prior to joining Norton Agency Insurance in 2010, Lee owned and operated his own agency, beginning his insurance career in 1998. Lee is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a BBA in Finance. With clients based globally, Lee and the realprotect team insure over $5 billion dollars of residential real estate throughout the United States.

Ash Smith

Vice President of Development and Partnerships

Ash L. Smith, CAWC is a graduate of Stratford Academy in Macon, Georgia and the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.  He has been licensed in the insurance industry for over two decades in various risk management areas. He furthered his insurance knowledge by receiving his accreditation as a Certified Authority on Workers Compensation.  He is a Past Chairman of the Young Agents Committee and Past President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia.  He also served as Chairman of Georgia Agency Partners.  Ash is married with two children.

Scott Lewis

Vice President of Sales

Scott Lewis is entering into his 32nd year in the insurance industry. Scott is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Risk Management & Insurance. Scott believes in partnering with his clients to create a proactive plan to protect their assets as well as their futures. He is regularly sought out for his guidance from other industry leaders and has been honored with earning his Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager designation for the National Alliance Institute for Insurance Education.

Charles McCollum

Charles McCollum

Vice President

Charles McCollum, CPCU is a 1994 graduate of the University of Georgia’s Risk Management and Insurance program, and since 2002, he has worked at Manry Heston as insurance agent. In 2014, Charles became a partner in the agency, and in 2017, he assumed the role of President. In 2023, Manry Heston joined Legacy Risk Solutions as a partner agency. Currently, Charles oversees the agency’s operations while continuing to maintain and grow his middle market commercial lines book. He began his insurance journey with an insurance company as a claim representative, and for the first 8 years of his career, remained in the claims arena. While in claims, Charles opened a branch office of an independent adjusting firm in Atlanta, and later moved to Manhattan to manage the firm’s New York and New Jersey offices. In 1999, he returned to Atlanta and served as a program manager for the claims division of a third party administrator. Charles currently lives in McDonough with his wife Melanie and together they have 4 adult children.

Kristi Shrum

Vice President

Kristi Shrum grew up in Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia and moved to Asheville, NC in 2012. She has been licensed in the insurance industry for over a decade. She has furthered her insurance knowledge by receiving her accreditation as a Certified Insurance Counselor and a Certified Risk Manager Designation. She is passionate about her community having served on the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels and the North Carolina Craft Beverage Museum. She loves volunteering for United Way, Meals on Wheels, and Brother Wolf.

She is the proud mother of her son, David, and her two rescue pups, Cash and Riley. She enjoys hiking all over Western North Carolina with her dogs and traveling. She also enjoys attending sporting events with her son regardless of their divided house as he cheers for Duke, and she is a diehard Tarheel fan.
